JAMMU, Sept 29: Former Deputy Chief Minister & MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta spearheaded BJP’s campaign in Gandhi Nagar Constituency. He addressed series of public functions in different wards falling in his Constituency.
While addressing a gathering at Nai Basti, Ward No 23 from where Pawan Singh is in fray for the civic polls, Gupta exuded confidence that people will support the party on basis of the work it has done. He said during BJP Government in the State, “we have got many works executed and focused mainly on the quality of work, so that people don’t suffer again and again’’. He said people are aware of all the facts and can compare the developmental works executed during previous Governments and our regime. He said the role of locally elected Corporator is to get the day today problems of the citizens solved and to remain available easily in the ward itself.
He appealed the public to vote for the real development of the wards. “After the installation of Mayor from BJP, we can go ahead with the projects like drainage system in every ward, pick up facility of house hold waste from door steps, extending sewerage systems to all wards, creation of dumping stations at feasible locations, up-gradation of lanes, up-gradation of healthcare facilities etc.
He said the funds from Central Government to the Urban Local Bodies were not being utilized as there was no such body in the State. Now after elections in addition to the special funds from Government and MLAs CDF, or MPLAD we can utilize the funds meant for the Local bodies exclusively for the development of the wards. He further appealed to the gathering present there, to vote in favour of Pawan Singh BJP candidate from Ward 23, who is always available for the social causes. He also said, “I have full faith that on the basis of work we have done, people will back us.”
