JAMMU, Sept 29: Different organisations here today celebrated the second anniversary of surgical strikes carried out by Indian army in Pakistan occupied Kashmir killing many terrorists and smashing numerous terror camps there. The two days celebrations which started yesterday culminated today.
In this regard Air Force Station (IAF) Jammu organised a two days programme of static display of military assets which culminated today. The occasion also marked celebrations of 86th anniversary of IAF. The two days event was inaugurated by Group Captain N.K Choubey, Officiating AOC Air Force Station Jammu yesterday and witnessed a huge turnover of nearly 7000 enthusiastic visitors.
Like other parts of the country the second anniversary of surgical strike day was celebrated in Jammu with enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. On this occasion Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma flagged off a rally from Maharaja Hari Singh Park to Balidan Stambh here today. Students from various schools participated in the rally holding banners and placards amid chanting of the slogans in praise of Indian army. While paying tributes to the martyred soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation, the Div Com said the nation will always remain indebted to them for their supreme sacrifice and devotion towards duty. The Div Com also presented token of appreciation to the family members of martyrs. Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, IGP Jammu, Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal, SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta, ADDC Jammu Suriya Jabeen, ACR Jammu Nissar Ahmed, Captain Bana Singh, family members of martyrs and others were also present on the occasion.
Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with Government College for Women, Prade here today celebrated Parakram Parv by staging a Hindi play ‘Desh Ke Liye’. The play revolved around the theme of national integration, secularism and patriotism with special mention of Parakram Parv being celebrated everywhere highlighting the bravery of Indian army.
To celebrate ‘Prakrama Parva’-2nd anniversary of surgical strikes, a seminar was organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu where Major General (Retd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal narrated different anecdotes exemplifying the valour of our soldiers. He asserted that every Dogra is a soldier by instinct and spoke about many incidents where our ancestors have made supreme sacrifices to keep the flag of our nation high. He also paid respect to Brigadier Rajinder Singh who is the popularly known as savior of Jammu & Kashmir.
NCC cadets of 2 J&K NCC Unit of GGM Science College celebrated Parakram Parv today and a special parade was organized by the contingents of NCC-both boys and girls which passed through the campus. This parade was organized in support of Indian army for its selfless, unconditional dedication and service to the nation. Chief Guest on the occasion was Brigadier Raghu V. Sadotra, DDG, NCC J&K and he interacted with students of the college and motivated them to join firstly the NCC and then defence forces.
NCC wing of GCW Gandhi Nagar celebrated Parakram Parv by organising various activities like writing letter and messages and making cards for the soldiers. A pledge was also taken by the students to stand with the country and spread the message of integrity. A special parade and exhibition of the messages and cards prepared by the students was also there. Chief Guest on the occasion was Col Shiv Choudhary, Ex-Servicemen who delivered a lecture to sensitize the students on the sacrifices made by the armed forces in protecting our borders.
Government Degree College Majalta organised a programme where Capt Sohan Singh and Thakur Hans Raj (both retired army-men) enlightened the students on surgical strikes carried out by Indian army on terrorist camps in PoK.
2 J&K Girls Bn NCC and 2 J&K Boys Bn NCC Govt Degree College R.S Pura performed a motivational skit on the second day celebrations of ‘Parakram Parv’ today. The skit was based on Vijay Diwas – celebrating the country’s victory in Kargil war wherein the cadets showcased the gallantry acts of armed forces in protecting the borders of our motherland.
GDC Bishnah celebrated Parakram Parv by making cards and writing letters in honour to Indian Armed Forces. A pledge ceremony was also organised where a number of students including NCC cadets and NSS volunteers participated with full enthusiasm and expressed solidarity and support to armed forces.
The Parakram Diwas to commemorate surgical strikes was celebrated in Government Degree College Women, Kathua wherein a series of activities were organized by the NCC cadets and NSS volunteers in support of armed forces. A signature campaign was followed by an elocution event in which NCC cadets expressed their views on different issues faced by army in Indian context.
Parakram Parv was celebrated at Government Middle School Dekri, Kishtwar. The programme started with address by Headmaster of the school, Amresh Parihar who asked the students to support Indian army. The students also posted post cards to the nearest army camp showing solidarity.
The state team of BJYM J&K led by its State President, Vikas Choudhary today celebrated Parakram Parv with the soldiers of BSF at the Chinore Farm Border. The BJYM team shared sweets with Jawans and congratulated them on Prakaram Parv and thanked them for their service to the nation.
