MBWU discusses problems, demands

JAMMU, Sept 29: Mini Bus Workers’ Union (MBWU), Jammu today held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president, Vijay Singh Chib, wherein various problems and demands of Mini Bus Operators were discussed.
The office bearers and members of the Union expressed their grave concern over the sufferings being faced by the Mini Bus operators and owners due daily hike in prices of Diesel, stating that they are facing difficulties in meeting the expenses.
A grave concern was also expressed over the slackness of the authorities of RTO office Jammu in settling the issues of the Mini Bus operators. The speakers demanded shuffling of the staff of RTO office Jammu for its smooth functioning.
Vijay Singh, while speaking on the occasion, expressed concern over unavailability of parking and terminal/proper stops for mini buses of different routes, saying in the absence of these, Mini Bus operators have to lift the passengers from road side and traffic cops books such operators.
He also expressed concern over restrictions on entry of mini buses in the existing bus stand at Railway Station, Jammu, alleging that passengers intending to travel by mini buses have to wander from one place to other for boarding mini buses. He demanded to allow entry of mini buses in the bus stand for lifting and boarding off the passengers.
