SRINAGAR, Sept 29 : To give a warm send off to IGPs Jagjit Kumar and Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, a function was organized at Conference Hall, PHQ. Additional Director General of Police (Hqrs.) PHQ, A.G. Mir, presided over the function.
Speaking on this occasion, Mir, recalled the services and qualities of head and heart of both the officers and said they have worked with dedication throughout their respective career. He wished them health and blissful post retirement life.
Jagjit Kumar, a Law Graduate was appointed as Dy.SP in Police Department on 21.02.1984 and was inducted into IPS in the year 2002. During his 34 years of Police services he remained posted on various important /key posts which included DySP DAR Poonch, DySP Hqrs Poonch, Dy.SP DAR Rajouri, SDPO Kothibagh, Dy.SP Vigilance, SP (Ops.) Srinagar, SP (Ops.) Anantnag, SP City South Jammu, SP Ganderbal, SSP Traffic Kashmir, SSP Vigilance, SSP CID CIK, SSP Poonch, DIG Udhampur Reasi, DIG Traffic Kashmir, IGP Security J&K, IGP Traffic, J&K and IGP Technical Services, PHQ.
Ashkoor Ahmed Wani was appointed as Dy.SP in Police Department on 21.02.1984 and was inducted into IPS in the year 2005. During his 34 years of Police services he remained posted on various important /key posts which included DySP DAR Poonch, DySP PCR Jammu, Dy.SP CID (Security), Dy.SP Hqrs. Kathua, SDPO Shopian, SDPO Saddar, SDPO Ramban, SDPO C&R, Jammu, SP (Ops.) Budgam, SP (Ops.) Srinagar, SSP Anantnag, SSP Kupwara, SSP Doda, SSP Baramulla, SSP CID CIK, SSP Udhampur, DIG DKR Range, DIG Traffic Jammu, DIG JKS Range and IGP (CIV) PHQ.
The function was attend by J.P Singh, IGP (Personnel), Sikander Mohan Kapoor, Director Prosecution PHQ, Mubassir Latifi, AIG (Prov./Tpt.) PHQ, Gowhar Ahmad Mir, Joint Director Prosecution PHQ, Amit Mahajan, CAO and other senior officers of PHQ.
