JAMMU, Sept 30: BJP is hell bent to create identity crisis in our State by tinkling with safe guards granted to the people of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and Article 35-A of the Indian Constitution by the Parliament of the Country and the Constituent Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ajay Sadhotra, former Minister and senior leader National Conference, said this while addressing various public meetings at border villages Pangore and Phallain in Marh Assembly Constituency.
Sadhotra said National Conference high command decided not to participate in the local bodies and panchayat elections until BJP Government in the Centre and the State take effective steps to protect the constitutional safeguards in the Supreme Court of India.
The NC leader said if the Article 35-A is scrapped, it will open flood gates for the people of the rest of the Country and the basic idea and concept of Maharaja Hari Singh will be weakened, youth from outside the State shall come and grab employment. “Our youth cannot compete with the youth of Delhi, Chandigarh and Punjab and unemployment problem of the State shall further aggravate. Our identity, culture and civilization will be under threat”, he added.
Scrapping of Article 35-A shall be to play with the future of youth of the State especially Jammu as nobody will like to go to Kashmir in view of present condition and thrust will be in Jammu only. Big business houses will come, grab business and our people doing business will also be hit badly and suffer as our people could not compete big business houses.
Sadhotra asked people of the State especially Jammu youth to rise to the occasion to fight the nefarious designs of the BJP to scrap Article 35-A for petty vote politics.
