JAMMU, Oct 2: One person was killed while another got injured when a scooter on which they were travelling, got slipped in Gandhi Nagar area near Government Women College.
“The mishap occurred late last night in which the rider died on the spot due to head injury while pillion rider escaped with minor injuries”, a police official said. He said the deceased was identified as Sunny Gupta (30) son of Subhash Gupta, resident of Jain Bazaar, Jammu while the injured was identified as Deepak (18) son of Chander Shekhar, resident of Lakhdata Bazaar, Jammu.
The official said that the injured youth and body of the deceased was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. “Today after completion of postmortem, the body of Subhash was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while Gandhi Nagar police had registered a case in this connection and started investigations”, he added.
