KATHUA, Oct 3: District Development Commissioner, Kathua Rohit Khajuria launched introduction of postal delivery of Permanent Resident Certificates to the people at their door steps.
During the programme, District Development Commissioner informed that in the first instance Permanent Resident Certificates of Kathua and Nagri tehsils will be delivered by postal services by the Competent Authority based upon the success, the postal delivery of PRC will also be extended to other parts of the district Billawar, Basohli and Hiranagar.
He also informed that subsequently SC, ST, RBA and dependent certificates will also be delivered through the postal services. In this way Kathua district earned the distinction of second district of the State after Jammu for adoption of postal delivery of Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs).
Gourav Shrivastav, Director Headquarter, Postal Services, J&K, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua and Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Kathua were also present on the occasion. District Development Commissioner also informed that launching of this programme will bring a lot of relief and mitigate the hardships and difficulties being faced by the people in collecting their certificates from the offices. Besides, it will also reduce the citizens, administration interface and will go long way in improving the Good-Governance and efficient public delivering.
