POONCH, Oct 3: A villager was injured after he was attacked by a bear in forest area of Loran in Mandi Sub Division today.
The victim has been identified as Abdul Gani, son of Rahim Sheikh, resident of Sathra in Loran area of Mandi. The incident took place when the villager had gone to the nearby forest. Suddenly, the bear ambushed him.
The villager grappled with the wild beast but he sustained serious injuries on face and head. He was however, rescued by the other villagers who ran after listening his loud calls. The injured was shifted to Mandi hospital and later referred to District Hospital, Poonch.
