2 drug peddlers arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Oct 3: Gandhi Nagar and RS Pura Police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two drug peddlers along with heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station laid a naka near cremation ground Shastri Nagar and intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02BT-8415.
During checking, police recovered 15 grams of heroin and Rs 50,000 cash from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Vijay Kumar, son of Harbans Singh, a resident of Majeetha Amritsar Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 219/18 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and assisted by SI Rohit Bhagat made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, SP South Vinay Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
Meanwhile, a team from RS Pura Police Station laid a naka near Sunderpur and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During frisking, police recovered 2.2 grams of heroin from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Ankush Balam, a resident of RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 130/18 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at RS Pura Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by ASI Ghulam Nabi made the arrest under the supervision of SHO RS Pura lnspector Bishnesh Kumar, SDPO RS Pura Sourabh Prashar, SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
