UDHAMPUR, Oct 3: In a strange incident, an elderly woman consumed poison and died under mysterious circumstances at her residence in Chenani.
According to the police, Sham Dahi (75), wife of Anant Ram of Champari, Tehsil Chenani, consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at her house last late night. Family members rushed her to CHC Chenani, where doctors referred her to GMC Jammu Hospital in view of her serious condition. However, she died under treatment.
Chenani Police deputed IO for conducting postmortem and in this regard, inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC has been initiated.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured when their Kuccha house collapsed at village Soni Panara, Basantghar Udhampur, last night.
Reports said that Kuccha house of Abdul Rashid, son of Atta Mohamed collapsed due to heavy rain for the last few days. The injured namely Mohd Din, son of Abdul Din and Mohd Aayad son of Abdul Rashid were evacuated and shifted to PHC Basantgarh.
