Durga Nagar Welfare Committee expresses concern over water logging

JAMMU, Oct 3: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee in a meeting today held under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina has expressed grave concern over the water logging in various areas which resulted breeding of mosquitoes in the area and spread of epidemic.
The meeting demanded construction of one more tube well near Muthi for Durga Nagar area as present one OHT with a capacity of one lakh gallon is not sufficient to feed the entire belt which ahs a large population.
It demanded that the Safai Karmacharis be deployed in the area to remove heaps of garbage and filth and maintain cleanliness in the area.
The meeting also demanded fogging in the area to control the spread of bacteria and mosquitoes’ spreading malaria, Dengue and Chicken Gonia etc.
Raina made an appeal to the authorities to construct the deep drain in the locality so that there is no accumulation of stagnated water.
He said one person died in the colony after suffering from Dengue while two are undergoing treatment. Raina said that Dengue has spread in various parts like Gandhi Nagar, Nanak Nagar and other localities also so authorities should take immediate preventive3 measures to control the same.
