JAMMU, Oct 4: Kashmiri migrants have accused the Government of making the election process a farce for them.
In a statement issued here, today Bansi Lal Raina general secretary, Migrant Cell Congress said that the total procedure has been changed for the filling up of forms by migrants to cast their votes this time.
He said, while the candidates have to fill up their nomination forms in Valley, the voters have to go through a cumbersome process. He said no proper publicity was given to this by the Election authorities and the migrants who visited the ARO Office to fill up the forms were refused the same with the remarks that the alt date is over. He said over 250 forms of migrants for Municipal Committee Kokernag were not entertained by ARO . Raina demanded that the date for acceptance of forms be extended immediately if election process is to be made meaningful.
