Court grants police remand of TSO

JAMMU, Oct 4: Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu Tasleem Arief today granted police remand of Tehsil Supply Officer Pranav Gandotra, who was arrested by the Vigilance Organization Jammu yesterday, up to October 15.
While granting remand, Additional Sessions Judge observed, “this court has perused the remand petition and the case diary and found that the investigation of the case is still in progress and its completion may require further time”.
“The investigation officer has submitted that the accused is required in police custody for investigation purpose and sustained questioning”, the court said.
As per the Vigilance Organization case, the accused is involved in the commission of offences punishable under Section 5 (1) and 5 (1) (d) read with Section 5 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
