JAMMU, Oct 5: A meeting of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee was held here, today under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina its president.
The meeting expressed grave concern over lack of transport facility in Police Colony, Suryavanshi Vihar, Dogra Nagar , Durga Nagar Sector 1, 2, 3, Durga Nagar Enclave and surrounding areas.
The meeting said that for last two years the matador service has been stopped in these localities, which has put people to many hardships especially the school going children, college students as well as ailing people who have to visit different hospitals for treatment.
The meeting said that several times the people had appealed to the Union president of matadors and RTO Jammu but till date no matador service was sanctioned for these localities.
The meeting also made an appeal to Deputy Commissioner, Jammu to issue permits to Magic Autos for plying from the area of Durga Nagar and other localities to Janipur so that the people are saved from traveling a three km distance on foot during these hot days.
The meeting also made an appeal to AEE Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to issue orders for replacing of damaged lamps in the colony by new lamps.
