Cleanest Religious Place

Heartening as also reassuring as it is learnt that Shree Mata Vaishno Devi shrine has bagged the prestigious “Cleanest Religious Place” award at Safaigiri Summit and Awards 2018 ceremony organised by the India Today Group in Mumbai on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Sanitation and cleanliness observed and practically experienced along the entire track right from basement up to the sanctum sanctorum by devotees thronging this world famous shrine has made this shrine set an example for other shrines across the country. We all must surely feel thrilled and gratified .
Shrine Board deserves accolades over their efforts in ensuring satisfactory levels of sanitation and cleanliness which not only gives the ambience around the shrine and the entire track a majestic look but contributes in promoting of religious tourism in this part of the State. The sanitation work force of committed 1000 people too deserve appreciation for keeping the levels of cleanliness up to the mark. While there is scope to do more about it, it is believed that proper development of Katra under the usual development plan could add lustre to the cleanest shrine of the country.
Special periodic sanitation drives on the adjoining hill slopes , in the Bhawan area and all the establishments , the cleanliness of bathing ghats of Banganga rivulet and its embankments with dedicated drives have all led to the shrine being adjudged the cleanest of all. It is , however, for the second consecutive year the shrine has been awarded as last year too, it bagged the “Special Swachh Iconic Place” award under the Swatchta Hi Sewa”campaign of Government of India , again on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and it is hoped that the spree of winning awards shall continue in the coming years as well.
