Seminar on Cloud Computing organized at BGSBU

JAMMU, Oct 6: Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SoET, BGSBU in collaboration with The Henson Group organized a seminar on Cloud Computing-Microsoft Azure under the aegis of TEQIP-III.
The Seminar started with a welcome note by Khalil Ahmed, Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, who elaborated the importance of Cloud technology and how every organization is now making use of cloud technologies for various services. He further added that every student should update technical skills from time to time to be a good technocrat.
Rukhsana Thaker, Coordinator of the Seminar briefed the participants about various sessions to be covered during the seminar.
The speakers highlighted how virtual machines are created and besides SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, they also demonstrated how disaster recovery as a service is being provided by cloud service providers. Speakers discussed Microsoft Azure -cloud computing services created by Microsoft for building, testing, deploying, and managing applications and services through a global network of Microsoft-managed data centers and its support to many different programming languages, tools and frameworks, including both Microsoft-specific and third-party softwares and systems.
Dean, SoET, Prof Mohammed Asger, in his address, elaborated the importance of cloud computing and Function as a Service (FaaS) provided by cloud. He further emphasized upon students to be technically updated and be front runners in every field of technology, be focused and start dreaming about the best in them.
