UDHAMPUR, Oct 8: A 10th class student was drowned in river Tawi on Ramnagar Road near Roun Domail last evening.
The deceased has been identified as Shiv Kumar (15), son of Mohan Lal, resident of Roun Domail. Police said Shiv and his friend had gone to the river for bathing last evening. Shiv drowned at around 6.45 pm as he slipped into deep water.
The other boy tried to save him but he failed in his attempts. Later, he told family and others about the incident. The police also reached there after some time. His dead body could be traced today morning around 8 am. It was shifted to district hospital for legal formalities by police.
