Hundreds of trout fishes found dead in pond

Srinagar, Oct 10: Hundreds of trout fishes were found dead in  a water pond in Diver village of Lolab in Kupwara district.
People held the departments of PHE and Fisheries responsible for the death of hundreds of fishes.
The locals said that hundreds of fishes died for last three days in a pond at Ganie Mohalla, Diver, Lolab and blamed the administration.
“The administration is well aware about the death of fishes but they didn’t take any serious step to investigate the cause of death. Not a single officer paid a visit to the pond,” they said adding, “We think some poison has been sprayed in the pond.”
People appealed SDM Lolab to take strong notice of the matter to save thousands of trout fishes in the pond.
