JAMMU, Jan 16: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir today said that Government was actively considering the introduction of Data Management Technology for the farmers of the J&K to help them get round the clock area based agriculture information vital for better production and growth.
This he said after watching the power point presentation presented by M/s Actech Agro here today.
Minister for state for Agriculture, Nazir Ahmad Khan (Gurazi) was also present on the occasion.
The Minister said the technology would help the Agriculture Department to have a proper date base of farmers and help it to provide specific information about the latest agri-techniques to the farmers of each area to help them enhance the production and suggest safety measures against any problem.
While giving the presentation, Managing Director M/s Actech Agro, Arvind Puchuri said that objective of the introduction of Data Management Technology in the state was to have Information Management System and establishment of two way mode of communication for the farmers, besides creation of infrastructure for collection of accurate weather information & weather forecast, creation of system for crop disease prediction based on weather forecast, creating facilities and medium for making weather information and forecast available to public and Government departments and establishment of a Data Center to host these applications.
Commissioner Secretary Agriculture Department, Shaleen Kabra, Director Agriculture Jammu, Ajay Khujaria, Director Extension SKUAST-J, Dr Risim, Director CAD Mr. Asgar Ali and other senior officers of the agriculture department.
