APMCC to launch 2nd phase of hunger strike from Porbandar on Jan 30

JAMMU, Jan 16: All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) today made the formal announcement of launching the second phase of agitation in support of its six point charter of demands submitted to Government at a number of occasions earlier.
Making the announcement of the second phase of agitation at a joint press conference addressed by All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) president, H L Chatta, Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) chief Kundan Kashmiri, APMCC chairman Vinod Pandit and Sanjay Koul a youth leader said that Vinod Pandit will launch the indefinite hunger strike at Porbandar Gujarat from January 30 the Martyrs Day in support of the demands.
Mr Chatta and Kundan Kashmiri said that various social and political organizations all over country including those of KPs have extended full support to Mr Pandit as the Government has failed to solve the problems of the displaced Pandits from Valley and it has betrayed the community altogether.
They urged the Government to accept the six -point charter of demands of KPs which included Passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Religious Places Bill, dialogue with Pakistan for facilitating visit to world famous Sharda shrine in PoK, establishment of Sharda Peeth University, probe into the encroachment of shrines and temples land, one time compensation to over aged youth and special employment package for non migrant Hindus of Kashmir Valley.
Besides they also demanded implementation of PM’s employment package in letter and spirit and enhancement of cash relief for which the relief holders are on protest for a long time.
Vinod Pandit said that his organization has intimated the decision to Government of India, Government of J&K as well as Government of Gujarat as Pandits have been subjected to persecution and humiliation by the successive state governments. He said there is not only the denial of the rights to the community on one account but a deliberate attempt is being made by forces at the helm of affairs to alienate the community completely which will not be tolerated any more now.
He said the State Government needs to answer that who was the brain behind the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and which are the forces who are hell bent to keep the community in a continued state of wilderness.
