New Ministers take charge, meet CM

JAMMU, Jan 16: The newly inducted Ministers assumed charge of their allotted Ministries in the Civil Secretariat here today.
The Ministers, who took over their responsibilities, included Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Minister for Planning and Development, Labour and Employment, Ajay Sadhotra, Minister for Tourism, Ghulam Ahmed Mir, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs , Mir Saifullah, Minister of State Science & Information Technology (Independent charge), Medical Education, School Education, Youth Services and Sports, Feroz Khan and Minister of State Animal & Sheep Husbandry (Independent charge) PHE, Irrigation, Flood Control, Horticulture, Agriculture and Floriculture, Nazir Gurezi.
The new Ministers also interacted with the officers and officials of their respective departments and had a detailed description about the functioning of the same.
Meanwhile, the newly inducted Ministers in the State Council of Ministers, who took oath of office and secrecy yesterday, called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here today and expressed their gratitude to him for reposing faith and giving them responsibility of serving the State and its people.
The Ministers also assured the Chief Minister of their sincere service and hard work to realize the goal of peace, progress and prosperity set by the Coalition Government under the leadership of Omar Abdullah.
Wishing them success in their intension and endeavour to seek betterment of the people and the State as Ministers in the Council of Ministers, the Chief Minister expressed the hope that justice to all, best service delivery and public good would be the benchmark of their functioning.
