JAMMU, Oct 13: A woman was killed while her 18-year-old son got injured in a road accident in Bagh-e-Bahu area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, an Innova car bearing registration number JK02AU-2021 this afternoon hit a scooty bearing registration number JK02BX-7396 on Sidhra Byepass National Highway near Environment Park.
“In the mishap, the pillion rider of the scooty namely Ashar Bibi (52) wife of Ghulam Ali, resident of Ranguraa (Sidhra Byepass) received serious head injury while her son, Nisar Ahmed (18), who was riding the scooty, got minor injuries”, the official said.
He said both mother and son were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Ashar Bibi was declared as brought dead by the doctors. “The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary of the hospital while a case in this connection was registered at police station Bagh-e-Bahu and investigations started”, he said, adding both the vehicles involved in the mishap were seized while driver of the car was on large.
