Include Gojri into 8th Schedule: Hakla

JAMMU, Oct 25: Shamsher Hakla Poonchi a prominent Gujjar leader and intellectual has reiterated his demand regarding inclusion of Gojri language into the Eighth Schedule of Indian Constitution.
In a statement issued here, today Hakla has made an appeal to Governor of the State, S P Malik urging him to take up the issue with Union Government by making strong recommendations in this regard.
He said this will help in development and spread of Gojri language which is spoken by a large number of Gujjars and Bakerwals of the State whose population is 34 lakh. He said keeping this in view this language needs to be treated with other popular languages of the State.
