KULGAM, Oct, 20: Under the directions of J&K High Court Chief Justice, Justice Gita Mittal and under the aegis of NALSA, a daylong mega Legal Services cum Awareness Camp was held here today.
The event was jointly inaugurated by Kishore Kumar Bhagat, Principal District and Sessions Judge Kulgam and Dr. Shamim Ahmed Wani, District Development Commissioner Kulgam.
Speaking on the occasion, District Development Commissioner said that objective of organising such camps is to impart awareness among general masses about various state and centre sponsored schemes.
The departments of labour, social welfare, fisheries, sheep husbandry, animal husbandry, industries, horticulture, agriculture, handloom, RDD etc had installed their stalls in the camp.
On this occasion cheques worth Rs. 8.39 lakh were distributed by the Labour Department while the Social Welfare Department distributed 38 tool kits among plumbers where as Horticulture Department distributed 100 spray-motors and 6 tillers to beneficiaries and Sheep Husbandry Department distributed 87 blankets among Chopans and sanction letters were also distributed.
