7th Annual Conference of JK Chapter of ASI concludes

JAMMU, Oct 21: 7th Annual Conference of JK Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India titled ‘JAKASICON-2018’ concluded on a colorful note with award giving ceremony and the cultural event.
The three-day conference was organized with theme of “Surgico-Ethical Issue in 21st Century”. The final day of the conference started with Prof KL Kapoor Postgraduate Quiz that was conducted by Dr Subash Abrol. Prof GR Verma, Prof Rajesh Gupta and Prof SS Rana, all from PGI took master classes on obstructive jaundice and acute pancreatitis followed by Free Papers presentation by postgraduates, demonstrators and senior residents.
There was also PG Award winning paper session as well as a panel discussion on “Trauma Management in Present Scenario”. The eminent faculty participated in deliberations was Prof KL Kapoor, Prof HL Goswami, Prof Nisar A Chowdri, Prof NC Digra, Prof Tariq Azad, Prof Fazl Parray, Prof SL Kachroo, Dr Anita Vig, Prof Kulbushan Gupta, Prof Sanjeev Gupta, senior resident and postgraduates.
After a day-long exhaustive academic event, Maya Sham Best Poster Awards, Prof KL Kapoor Quiz Award and Best PG Paper Award were presented to the winners by Prof KL Kapoor and Prof HL Goswami.
Both Prof Kapoor and Prof Goswami were felicitated with shawls and mementos as living legends by the organizing committee. A cultural programme was also presented by Romalo Ram & Group.
The conference ended with formal vote of thanks by Dr Sanjay Kumar Bhasin, organizing secretary, who happens to be the honorary secretary of J&K Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India (JAKASI).
