DGP, GOC brief Governor

JAMMU, Jan 18: Director General of Police Ashok Prasad and General-Officer-Commanding (GOC) Maj Gen Ashwani Kumar have briefed Governor N N Vohra on overall security situation in the region at a meeting in Raj Bhawan here.
Mr Prasad called on Mr Vohra here last evening, official spokesman here today said.
He said that the Governor and the DGP, during the meeting, discussed the obtaining security situation in the State and issues pertaining to internal security management.
The DGP briefed him about the threats received by Sarpanchs and Panchs and the measures being put in place to deal with the obtaining situation.
Meanwhile, Maj Gen Kumar, GOC, 26 Infantry Div also called on Mr Vohra this afternoon and briefed him about the overall security situation in the area of his responsibility.
This was Maj Gen Kumar’s first meeting with the Governor after recently taking over as the GOC of the 26 Infantry Div, the spokesman said.
