JAMMU, Jan 18: A road was named after veteran Kashmiri Pandit leader Amar Nath Vaishnavi at a function organized by Durga Nagar Welfare Committee (DNWC) at Durga Nagar today.
The function was attended by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president, Panun Kashmir, HL Chatta, president, ASKPC, Virender Raina, national spokesperson, Panun Kashmir, Roshan Lal Raina, president Durga Nagar Welfare Committee, PL Swadeshi, Prof GL Koul, PN Raina, Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsang Ashram, DN Kissu, president, DNWC, Ashok Dhar and various other KP leaders.
While speaking, KP leaders eulogized the contributions of Amar Nath Vaishnavi.
DN Kissu, president, DNWC in his speech said that more memorials on the name of Amar Nath Vaishnavi will be raised in the coming time.
The KP leaders demanded immediate passage of Shrines and Temples Bill and expressed concern over delay in implementation of PM’s employment package. They criticized the Government for delaying enhancement of employment package and said that only path left to attain the goal was that community should join a protracted struggle for its rights.
Swami Kumar Ji on the occasion suggested organizing a cricket tournament on the name of Vaishnavi Ji.
