SMVDU becomes Multi-Institutional Centre for Advance Research

JAMMU, Oct 27: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) will soon be a multi-institutional centre for advance research in human reproductive health as the Indian Council of Medical Research has established its nodal centre at SMVDU.
The nodal centre has also been established at three collaborative universities-University of Jammu, University of Kashmir and Central University of Jammu and these varsities have been sanctioned a funding of Rs 10 crore.
This was informed by Dr. Rakesh Thusoo, the lead investigator and senior faculty member at School of Biotechnology, SMVDU.
Dr. Thusoo emphasized that the centre would deal with issues like primary and secondary infertility-locally as well as globally.
The Vice Chancellors of all the four universities expressed their delight on the sanction of this centre and assured their support to collaborating scientists.
