REASI, Oct 27: Prominent citizens of the district today expressed serious concern over the ongoing strike of doctors in Reasi and other parts of the region and appealed Governor to immediately suspend all the erring doctors.
The issue was discussed in detail during a meeting of the citizens held here today. They also discussed the issue assault on a local patient by some mischievous employees of health department at District Hospital Reasi and subsequent illegal strike to evade legal action and malign the image of District Administration.
They said on October 20, a local man namely Kuldeep Kumar son of Om Parkash arrived at District Hospital in connection with treatment of his grandson where Dr Ashwani Bhagat and Dr Davinder Khajuria assaulted Kuldeep Kumar for which a formal complaint was lodged by the victim at police station Reasi.
The citizens also expressed concerns regarding serious ramifications of the ongoing strike of some doctors supporting the illegal and unjust cause of these erring doctors which has brought disrespect to the noble profession in the town of Reasi.
They requested Governor to immediately suspend these erring doctors and initiate an enquiry at the level of Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education.
