JAMMU, Oct 29: Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) and Magam Bangil Sabha (MBS) in a joint meeting here, today while discussing the prevailing situation in the Valley in general and J&K State in particular said that the follies of the successive political Governments right from 1947 are responsible for the present mess in the Valley.
Addressing the meeting KHC president, Advocate ML Thussu, its convener, P L Koul Budgami and Magam Bangil Sabha president, Raj Nath Raina said that undermining the democratic institutions in the State and rising corruption by the political leadership and bureaucrats over the years has been the main cause of Kashmir crisis and annihilation of the people.
The meeting said the rigging of 1987 Assembly elections and thrashing of the opponent candidates inside the police stations by the ruling class leaders of that time led to crisis. The meeting extended full support to Governor’s administration in weeding out corruption from public life which too has been a root cause of the crisis in the State as the deserving and capable people were being ignored in place of favorites by the political class.
The meeting said it is for the second time that any State Governor has gone deep into the root cause of the Kashmir problem after Jagmohan and expressed the hope that all saner elements in the Valley will extend full support to him.
