KATHUA, Oct 29: Former minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has said that the public has given clear mandate against BJP in Municipal elections in all councils/committees in district Kathua as well as other areas of the State but it is unfortunate that the BJP tried to come in power by using all corrupt practices including luring and pressurizing the winning candidates by using all the means instead to honouring the public mandate against them.
Dr Sharma said that BJP has none of the committees including Council in Kathua got majority as people voted against the anti- people policies of BJP Government and given a strong indication to keep BJP out of power. He came down heavily on the `act’ of BJP in Kathua where the horse trading was allegedly done to grab the Municipal Council of Kathua for the lust of power and acted totally against the wish and will of people, who tries to keeps the BJP out of power by giving mandate against them but the BJP shamelessly adopted its policy of horse trading to influence the councilors to satisfy their greed to achieve power setting aside all the ethics of democratic values.
The DCC president warned the Administrative Officer not to indulge in the dirty game of BJP to influence the councilors instead to do their duties for the betterment of the people. Dr Sharma said the people are best judge and watching all the misdeeds of BJP and its leaders for playing dirty tactics to achieve/ grab power by all means.
