JAMMU, Oct 29: Former Dy. CM & MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today said that massive developmental and beautification works are being undertaken in Gandhi Nagar Constituency for the benefit of people.
While addressing the gathering after inaugurating laying of water pipe line in Ward No. 56, Gangyal in Gandhi Nagar Constituency, Gupta said, the pipe laying works for scheme is undertaken by the PHE Department and the cost of the project is 11.5 lacs. He said that these works will benefit a large number of people, adding that by completion of these works of public importance, long pending demand of the people will be fulfilled.
He said that a massive programme for beautification of Gandhi Nagar Constituency has also been launched under which various parks and gardens will be revitalized in the area for the people, besides several other projects are also being executed which are in various stages of development. Gupta also interacted with local people and took note of their problems and demands. Demands include supply of adequate drinking water in the adjoining lanes, cleanliness of Nallahs, blacktopping on inner roads, construction of lanes and drains and proper sewerage system.
Gupta gave on the spot directions to the concerned authorities of PHE Department to take necessary steps for providing adequate supply of clean drinking water to the people of the area. He also directed the concerned JMC authorities to start special cleanliness drive to remove the garbage from the nallah and other areas. Gupta was accompanied by Baldev Bilowria, Executive Engineer, PHE J.P.Singh, Vinay Gupta, Harbans Choudhary, Ranjeet Singh among others
Later Gupta inaugurated the laying of Paver tiles of lanes and drains at Raipur Satwari. Addressing the locals he said, it is his priority to fulfill the needs of the residents of Gandhi Nagar and every requirement related to development is taken up on priority and the works pertaining to improvement of power and water supply, construction of lanes and drains and enhancing other civic amenities have already been taken up and will be completed in a time bound manner.
Gupta said that he is well aware of the requirements of the people. He asserted that ensuring enhanced facilities to the people in every nook and corner of the Gandhi Nagar with emphasis on the most neglected parts is the main mantra of his working.
