JAMMU, May 4: Reiterating its warning to launch the parallel yatra on Jesht Purnima falling on June 4, leaders of various Hindu organizations today said that thousands of Shiv Bhakts from different parts of country will reach here on June 2 to proceed towards holy cave of Swami Amarnath next day and perform darshan there on June 4, the auspicious date for starting the two month long yatra as per Hindu traditions.
“We are committed to start yatra as per scheduled date and there will be no change in the same’’, VHP chief, Dr Rama Kant Dubey along with leaders of various Hindu organizations told reporters here today.
He said the decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of various social, religious and political organizations.
He said from May 6 to May 13 the recruitment process of Shiv Bhakths will take place all over country including Jammu. The main purpose of this campaign will be to awaken people. To launch a forceful campaign for the yatra Jagat Guru Shankarachariya of Dwarika, Sub Committee member of Shri  Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), Swami Gyanand Ji Maharaj and VHP Central Advisory Committee Member, Ashok Singhal will visit Jammu on May 20 to participate in a special programme in this regard.
He said the yatra will take place on scheduled date and SASB chairman has no right to fix the date on its own. Moreover the Nitish Sen Gupta, Justice Mookerjee Committee in its findings have stressed that Board should provide facilities to yatris and no where they have suggested that it should fix the date for Yatra by changing the schedule date.
Dr Dubey said it is unfortunate that the Board has changed the schedule date of yatra from June 4 to June 25 which is not acceptable. The same demand was made by Geelani and other separatists earlier who said that the yatra should be allowed only for one month, he added.
Dr Dubey said that if the yatra date is reduced to one month only within five years it will be reduced to 15 days only.
