ATM fraudster arrested

POONCH, Oct 30: The Police today nabbed an ATM fraudster within 12 hours of receiving a complaint with regard to withdrawl of money from an account by cheating.
A police spokesman said that one Mohd Aslam, son of Salam Din from Mamankote, Tehsil Chasana (Mahore) lodged a written complaint in Police Station, Poonch that while withdrawing money at SBI ATM located in Poonch, an unknown person came there and he managed to exchange his ATM and later withdrew Rs 38,000 from the account.
Taking cognizance of the matter, Police immediately registered the case FIR No 184/2018 U/S 420 RPC and a Police party led by SHO Poonch swung into the action.
With the strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV footage of incident, the accused person got identified as Liyaqat Hussain, son of Abdullah, resident of Kanuyian, Poonch was arrested.
During interrogation, he confessed the crime and the ATM of complainant along with money Rs 38000 cash was recovered from his possession. It is being ascertained that whether there is involvement of some gang or otherwise and possibility of more recovery cannot be ruled out. SSP, Rajiv Pandey lauded the prompt action of Police team.
