JAMMU, Jan 19: Ist annual Raising Day of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was celebrated at its Battalion Headquarters, Gulshan Ground, Gandhinagar here today.
IGP Home Guards and Civil Defence, Youginder Koul was the chief guest. Sham Lal Sharma, DIG HG/CD & CDRF was the guest of honour on the occasion. A guard of honour was presented to the IGP and later an open ‘Darbar’ of the jawans was also held.
While speaking on the occasion, Commandant of the Battalion, Ghulam Sarwar Chouhan gave profile of the battalion and its other activities. The DIG also spoke and projected the purpose of raising this unit. A cultural programme was also presented in which Jiya Lal Sharma, Romesh Parwana, Purnima Verma, Zulikha Farid, Ashok Anjum and Sumant Dogra participated. Several other police officers and Dy Controller CD Samba were present on the occasion.
