Dog Show held at SKUAST-J on last day of Vet Fest

JAMMU, Nov 4: Professor (Dr.) Pardeep K. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu inaugurated the Dog Show on the last day of Vet Fest-2018 organised by Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, R.S Pura.
The star attraction was the Dog Show competition wherein pet lovers of Jammu division participated in large number along with the sizzling performance of BSF Dog squads.
They showed their skills and valour for the public in general.
Prizes were distributed among the winners.
The overall champion of the show was Dog named CoCo, Breed Lhassa Apso of Jatin Sharma.
After this there was valedictory function wherein Prof. (Dr.) K.S Risam, Director Extension was chief guest and Dr. Parmod Kumar Baru, Ex Associate Director and Dr. S.D Bakshi, Ex DDSW were the guests of honour.
Professor (Dr.) M.M.S Zama, Dean delivered the welcome address.
During the festival, literary events like debate, story writing, mad-ad, shipwreck, anchor hunt, extempore, photography etc were held while in sports events badminton, chess, table tennis, carom, cricket, basketball etc competitions were held were held and prizes were distributed among the winners.
Fifth year was declared the overall champion in the whole festival.
Organizing Secretary, Professor (Dr.) V.S Wazir presented vote of thanks.
Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Dr. Deepak Kher; Director Planning all heads of divisions, other staff members and students of the faculty were present on the occasion.
