JAMMU, Nov 11: Former bureaucrat Chooni Lal Pandita passed away after brief illness here on Saturday.He was 80.
He is survived by his wife Raj Laxmi Pandita, two sons Dr Raj Kumar, Er Vinod Pandita and one Daughter Sunita Pandita.
Pandita was born at Achan village in Pulwama district. After being educated at Government School, Achhan and Bijbehara. He graduated from SP College in Arts and went to Aligarh where he did his MA, LLB.
Pandita has served various important posts which include SDM Chisul (Ladakh), Hajipeer, Baramulla,AC Leh,DC Kargil, Director,Food Supplies. He retired as a Joint Secretary Agrerian Reforms JK Government.
