JAMMU, Nov 13: Bishnah police arrested a woman and recovered 9 litres of illicit liquor from her possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bishnah Police Station conducted raid in Dhindey Khurd area and recovered around 40 litres of lahan and raw material of illicit liquor, which was later destroyed. Around 9 litres of illicit liquor along with distillery has been seized from the spot.
A woman identified as Anju, wife of Surjeet Kumar, a resident of Dhinday Khurd has been taken into the custody from the spot.
A case under FIR Number 197/18 under section 48-A, E, F Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector Rajesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Sourabh Prasher, SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
