Holds protest demonstration at Partap Park

SRINAGAR, Nov 18: In one of the historical protest that Srinagar city has witnessed in recent times, APMCC staged a massive Protest demonstration in this Winter chill against the apathy of Central and State Governments towards PM package employees in particular and Pandits in general.
Scores of PM package employees working across the Valley led by All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) Chairman, Vinod Pandit today staged a massive protest at Pratap Park, Srinagar against the Government’s failure in rehabilitating PM package employees suitably.
According to a statement issued by King C Bharati, National spokesperson, APMCC, the employees were demanding only basic necessities of life like : Independent Concrete accommodation for all 6000 PM package employees in a fixed time frame. Already eight years have passed and Government has failed miserably in accommodating the employees., holding of DPC in Social Welfare, Relief and other departments, fulfilment of all 6000 posts under PM package on fast track basis and demanded to clear all litigations of genuine candidates and vacate the stay order or any other hurdle in that on priority.
Release of final list of PM package candidates under SRO 412 on priority basis, employees posted in far flung areas to be transferred within a specified radius especially ladies.
It also demanded issuance of forma order regarding long pending demand of inter district transfer of couples, providing of basic amenities and facilities allotment of transit accommodations on Priority opening of model schools or KV in all transit camps.
The Protesting employees also asked the Government not to link the Employment Package to rehabilitation of KP’s as it was their right after being denied the same for three decades. They also demanded equal promotion system to all. This Package is a confidence Building Measure and nobody should be allowed to derail it, they added.
They said the directions in this regard should be passed to respective department heads not to allow anybody harass PM package employees who are already working in hostile environment.
The APMCC chairman Vinod Pandit served the ultimatum to Government to start dialogue with them or otherwise the APMCC will intensify the protest and will hit streets.
The participants from different transit camps of Kashmir like Nutnussa Kupwara, Hawal Pulwama, Veerwan Baramulla, Vesu Kulgam, Mattan Anantnag, Gandarbal, Sheikhpora and Srinagar joined the demonstration.
