SAMBA, Nov 23: A police party of P/S Samba during surprise Naka checking at Mansar Morh, Samba intercepted one blue colour, Swaraj Tractor without registration number which was coming from Udhampur via Mansar road.
During checking of the vehicle 14 Kg of Poppy Straw was recovered which was concealed in the tyres of Trolly of the Tractor. The accused persons have been identified as Gurmaj Singh, son of Paramjit Kour of H.No. 87 Jaspal, Tehsil Baba Bakala district Amritsar and Amar Singh, son of Chaman Singh of Manga Saroj Dhade, Amritsar. They were arrested on spot along with contraband items.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 310/2018 U/S 8/15/25/29 NDPS Act registered at P/S Samba and investigation taken up.
The arrest was made by the police party headed by Incharge Police Post, Mansar, SI Rajveer Singh under the close supervision of Inspector, Chanchal Singh, SHO P/S Samba and under the close supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba and on the directives of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba.
Meanwhile intensifying its drive against the illicit liquor on the directions of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba, district police Samba arrested one bootlegger and recovered 51 bottles of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of P/S Vijaypur.
A Police Party of PS Vijaypur headed by Inspector, Rajinder Sharma, SHO, Vijaypur and under the close supervision S. Baljeet Singh, SDPO Vijaypur during surprise Naka checking at Main Chowk Vijaypur intercepted a sky blue colour Alto Car bearing Registration Number JK08C-9786 which, was coming from Jammu towards Samba. During checking of the vehicle, two boxes containing 50 bottles of JK Desi whisky (180 ml each) and one bottle of Imperial Blue Whisky (375 ml) of illicit liquor were recovered.
The accused person identified as Balkar Singh, Son of Amar Singh, of Gandli RS Pura, Jammu. He was arrested on the spot and contraband item was also seized. In this regard a case FIR No. 161/2018 U/S 48-A Excise Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation taken up.
