SAMBA, Nov 23: In continuation to the drive launched by district police Samba to curb the menace of drug from the society, Samba Police today arrested a drug peddler near Army Heli Pad, Rakh Amb Talli and recovered 112 grams of Charas from his possession. The Samba police also during a naka seized 550 intoxicants capsules at NH in the town and arrested one drug peddler in this connection.
According to reports, a Police Party of Police Station Samba headed by I/C PP, Rakh Amb Talli, SI Deepak Bharti under the close supervision of Inspector Chanchal Singh, SHO PS Samba and under the direct supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba seized 112 grams of Charas from a drug peddler.
Reports said during surprise Naka checking near Army Helipad Rakh Amb Talli, Samba the police party intercepted one Santro Car bearing Registration Number, JK03B 9918 which was coming from border side. During frisking of the person driving the vehicle, 112 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. The accused person was identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmed, Son of Nazir Ahmed of Sunni Gaaon, Kulgam. He was arrested on the spot and contraband item was also seized. In this regard case FIR No. 312/2018 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
Police said, another team from Police Station, Samba headed by inspector, Chanchal Singh, SHO, Police station, Samba under the direct supervision of DYSP Samba Deepak Digra intercepted one person during the patrolling on National Highway Samba who was moving under suspicious circumstances and while his frisking 550 Capsules (SPM-PRX+) were recovered from his possession and the accused person was arrested on spot along with contraband items.
The accused has been identified as Bashir Ahmad @ Imran, son of Roshan Ali, resident of Nazimabad, Uttar Pardesh at present in Arazi Samba.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 311/2018 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act registered at P/S Samba and investigation taken up.
The drive against the drug menace in the district has been launched on the directives of SSP Samba Dr Koshal Kumar.
