LEH, Nov 23: A 2-day workshop on the topic “Teacher as Resource, ICT and MOOCs for Quality in Teaching Learning” was organized at DIET Leh by Centre for Learning and Pedagogics, Centre for Teacher Resource and Academic Support and Centre for Assessment and Evaluation, School of Education, Central University of Jammu, under the aegis of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching.
The workshop, which was attended by about 85 teachers from various zones of Leh district, had 6 technical sessions with the key objectives to enable teachers to become competent in innovatively employing the tools of technology to supplement their traditional teaching methods and thereby achieve enhanced student learning; give an insight on a series of ICT tools that implicitly support creative learning and innovative teaching.
This workshop is in the sequence of the varied capacity building programmes as per the guidelines of PMMMNMTT under which District wise programmes are being organized in the different domains of teaching learning processes as an initiative taken up by Vice Chancellor, CUJ Prof Ashok Aima and the faculty from School of Education, CUJ.
The Vice Chancellor personally participated in the valedictory day function and expressed the commitments of CUJ for the people of Ladakh region and assured the teachers and the staff of DIET for a regular and meaningful engagement of CUJ for developing professional competencies of the teachers and the DIET officials in future course of time.
He also expressed his concerns and subsequently the desirable roles and responsibilities of CUJ in taking up the challenges and gaps in the quality of teaching and learning in the Ladakh region.
The officials from DIET Leh led by the Principal Angmo assured their full cooperation in any kind of initiative taken up CUJ in this regard.
Total 85 participants took part in the workshop. The group primarily constituted of Lectures working with District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), teachers from higher secondary schools, high schools and primary schools from across the District Leh, and trainee teachers from DIET Leh.
