Burglars decamp with golden ornaments, cash from temples

KATHUA, Nov 25: The thieves decamped with golden ornaments and Rs 3000 cash from one famous temple in Kathua town and golden ornaments from another temple which is also in the heart of city late last night.
As per reports, the burglars intruded into the Ashapurni temple in heart of the Kathua town late last night and decamped with golden ornaments of the deity and Rs 3000 cash. Besides, they also decamped with golden ornaments from the idol of Goddess Laxmi installed in Shiv temple at Shiv Nagar Kathua late last night.
The increasing thefts in the town especially from the temples has been a cause of concern for the people. The Beopar Mandal, Kathua, president, Bal Krishan Sharma has urged the police to intensify vigil and start night patrolling in the markets and main road, Kathua especially during night hours as increasing thefts has become a cause of concern for the people.
The Kathua Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started investigation.
