KATHUA, Nov 26: The Electrical Department laborers under the banner of Provisional Electrical Employees Union (PEEU) led by its president, PC Sharma held a protest demonstration at Basholi in support of their long pending demands . They also took out protest march to SDM Office Basholi .
The protestors were raising slogans in support of their demands. While addressing provisional president of Union, PC Sharma widely criticized the state Government’s step mother treatment with daily wagers, need based laborers and seasonal laborers. He said that the price hike is on the peak and families of daily wagers are in lurch for want of salaries and they have no money to deposit school fees of their children.
He highlighted the demand of laborers including the release of long pending wages of need base/ casual/seasonal laborers who have been included / uploaded through biometric identification in 60000 workers list but have not been paid any wages in routine.
He demanded allotment of proper scale while their conversation in regular cadre , promotion avenues to be created for such workers who are having good / technical qualification like ITI, three years diploma in engineering and one year computer diploma DCA .
He also demanded benefits of SRO 43 to be included in the policy and amendment in SRO 520 of 2017. Later they submitted a memorandum of demands to ADC Basholi for submission to higher authorities for consideration.
