RAJOURI, Nov 27: A 25-year-old youth was allegedly done to death by a couple and his body was dumped in the field near their house in Mogla area of Kalakote under Dharmasal police jurisdiction.
The deceased has been identified as Satbir Singh alias Sanjay, son of Babu Singh, resident of Kattar, near Mogla Coal Mines (Kalakote). The boy went missing on the late evening of November 25. The family members of Sanjay kept searching for him during night and the next day. At around 10.15 pm on Nov 26, his elder brother Sehdev Singh reported the matter to SHO Dharamsal Police Station, Insp Amit Singh. He alleged that they have come to know that one Chain Singh, resident of Bakki Nallah near Moghla has kidnapped his brother and he and his wife have now gone underground.
The police party raided several hideouts and then finally managed to arrest Chain Singh and his wife from remote Badhog village today. They were placed under sustained interrogation. Chain Singh admitted his crime and claimed that he had asked his wife to call Satbir to their house as they had illicit relations. Then killed him and later dumped his body with the help of wife in the nearby field during mid night.
The police party exhumed the body from the field in presence of Magistrate today. The relatives of the deceased became furious on seeing dead body of Satbir and tried to attack and kill Chain Singh and wife but police managed to take them away from the mob and control the situation. The Medical Board at CHC Kalakote conducted the postmortem and later handed over the body to the family. The police registered murder case against both Chain Singh and his wife , Pooja Devi.
The police managed to solve this blind murder within 48 hours of the missing of the victim.
SSP, Rajouri Yougal Manhas said that further investigation into the case is being conducted by Inspr Amit Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera, Khaliq Choudary and Addl SP Nowshera, GL Sharma.
