SRINAGAR, Nov 29: The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has asked the party cadre to gear up for forth coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the State.
In an important meeting held at Party office in Srinagar today, the AICC secretaries and PCC chief reviewed the organizational affairs and activities in Kashmir division. The Party also deliberated on the, forthcoming Parliamentary and Assembly elections emphasizing the cadres to invigorate the Party further to face the challenges.
The party also emphasized cadres to gear up for the 2019 Parliamentary and Assembly election to ensure that the divisive policies on the part of BJP- RSS is countered.
Describing the Congress Party as a unifying force in the Country and State, the JKPCC said that it is the Congress Party alone which can counter the politics of exploitation by BJP- RSS, hell bent upon to divide people on communal lines for electoral gains.
In a meeting of senior party functionaries and leaders which was presided over by J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president GA Mir reviewed the organizational affairs and activities in Kashmir province and pondered upon the current political uncertainty in the State. The meeting also expresses serious concern lack of policy about the JK situation on the part of Centre.
On this occasion, AICC secretaries Incharge Party affairs in J&K , Dr Shakeel Ahmad Khan MLA and Sudhir Sharma former minister were also present. The meeting also devised a strategy with regard to forthcoming Parliamentary and Assembly elections, urging upon the Party cadre to gear up for the challenges.
While commenting on the current political uncertainty Mir blamed Central Govt for chaos and confusion in the State. He said that Assembly elections would be announced anytime in the State and urged upon the party leaders to gear up for the elections. Mir described the Congress as the only unifying force in the country and state, which has the capability of defeating communal and fascist forces in the country.
Those who addressed the meeting included MLC Gulam Nabi Monga, Abdul Rashid Dar, Mohd Anwar Bhat, Usman Majeed, Mohd Amin Bhat, Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Farooq Andrabi, Hilal Ahmad Shah, Surinder Singh Channi, Gulam Nabi Mir Lasjan and DCC presidents.
