US, UK Reach Deal on Post-Brexit Aviation Agreement – State Department

WASHINGTON, Nov 30: Delegations from the United States and the United Kingdom have wrapped up discussions on a bilateral aviation agreement that would take effect after Brexit, when the existing US-EU agreement no longer applies to the United Kingdom, the US Department of State said in a press release.
“Delegations from the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom completed talks on November 28 on a bilateral air transport agreement that would take effect when the US-EU Air Transport Agreement ceases to apply to the UK,” the release said on Thursday.
The release said the agreement will allow the US aviation industry to provide air services without interruption to the United Kingdom. The agreement also opens all-cargo service opportunities and covers the British overseas territories and crown dependencies, the release added. United Kingdom citizens voted to leave the European Union in a referendum in June 2016. The exit is expected happen by late March 2019. (AGENCIES)
