CHANDIGARH, Dec 1: The Government agencies and private millers have procured 170.14 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in Punjab till November 30.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 168.90 LMT of paddy while 123629 MT has been procured by the millers. Besides, 168.73 LMT paddy has been lifted and payments worth Rs.29330.5 crore have been made to the agents/farmers.
Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN has procured 5913764.75 metric tonnes, MARKFED 3886746.66 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 3525792 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 1564644 and 1747801.7 MT paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 251279 MT paddy. (UNI)
