SRINAGAR/ JAMMU, Dec 1: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference today staged protests at all district headquarters of State seeking the rollback of SAC’s decision of declaring J&K Bank a PSU.
Party functionaries, district presidents and other office bearers staged protests at various district headquarters and submitted memorandums to the concerned Deputy Commissioners demanding rollback on SAC decision on J&K Bank.
In Anantnag, the protest was staged under the leadership of district president Muhammad Altaf Kallu and Zonal president Dr Basher Ahmad Veeri. In Kulgam district president Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi and provincial spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar led the protests.
In Pulwama, the protests were led by district president Ghulam Mohi- Ud- Din Mir and Javeed Rahim Bhat. Many party functionaries staged similar protests in Baramulla district led by district president Javaid Ahmad Dar, Ghulam Hassan Rahi, Riyaz Ahmad Bedar, Advocate Shahid Ali, and Masooda Neelofar.
Party functionaries in Kupwara led by district president Kaisar Jamsheed Lone, Mir Saifullah, Zahid Mughal staged protest and impressed on the rollback of SAC decision. In Badipura Mir Ghulam Rasool Naz led the protests. In Ganderbal, district president Sheikh Isfaq Jabbar led the demonstration against the decision of SAC.
In Kargil protest was led by district president Haji Haneefa, Kamar Ali Akhoon and in Leh by district president, Yang Chang.
The NC leaders and activists also took out protest rallies across the Jammu division against this decision on J&K Bank.
At Jammu, a protest rally was taken out from Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan with party workers carrying the placards demanding immediate roll back of the decision. The NC leaders staged sit-in dharna at Raghunath Mandir Chowk and raised slogans against the decision.
The Speakers criticized the decision and expressed apprehensions that this will adversely impact the functioning of J&K Bank and shake the confidence of its huge clientele.
Organised by the District president Jammu Urban, Dharamveer Singh Jamwal, prominent among those who participated included Rattan Lal Gupta, Deepender Kour ex-MLC, Bimla Luthra ex-MLA, Vijay Laxami Dutta, Vijay Lochan, Abdul Gani Teli, Ch Arshad, Pardeep Bali and Ravi Dogra.
Similar protests were held at Vijaypur in Samba, Kishtwar, Doda, Rajouri and several other places in the region.
