RAJOURI, Dec 2: The police has arrested three persons for last night violence at Rajdhani village in Thanamandi tehsil in Rajouri district.
The incident took place last night when some persons, including a contesting Sarpanch candidate who got defeated, entered inside the house of another defeated candidate and beat up the family members and also damaged the household items including furniture alleging conspiracy for defeat. Upon this, a complaint was lodged into matter by the family.
Complainant family members stated involvement of about a dozen assailants in the incident in which four to five family members got injured.
Soon after receiving the complaint, police lodged case FIR No. 212/2018 under section 307, 458, 147, 148, 427, 323 RPC at Police Station, Thanamandi.
On the directions of SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas, teams of police headed by SDPO Thanamandi Iftikar Chowdhary and SHO Nazeer Dar conducted raids in the area and arrested three accused.
They include Manzoor Hussain, son of Mohammad Hussain, Maqsood Hussain, son of Mohammad Sharif and Ibrar Ahmed, son of Mohammad Hanief, residents of Rajdhani. Search for the other accused was going on.
